Pole set for Wolves move
Reports suggest Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on the signature of Polish striker Tomasz Frankowski.
A fee in the region of €2 million (£1.4 million) has been agreed with Spanish second division side Elche and the move is expected to be rubberstamped shortly.
The transfer will bring to an end manager Glenn Hoddle's long chase for a centre forward, with that search having taken on added urgency after it was revealed last week that Kenny Miller's long-term future lies away from Molineux.
A goalless draw at Millwall on Saturday highlighted Wolves' need for greater firepower if they are to regain promotion to the top flight and the 31-year-old Frankowski would fit the bill having netted seven times for Poland in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
And, despite concerns earlier this month that a deal had stalled with the respective clubs some way apart in their valuation of the player, it is now looking increasingly likely that Hoddle will get his man.
