Former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Muhsin Ertugral says he won't ever give up hope of signing Tinashe Nengomasha.
The Turk reveals that his new club Sivasspor failed to reach an agreement with Chiefs for the services of the Zimbabwean international.
“Tinashe was in my mind and I wanted him,” Ertugral told Kickoff.com. “But the two teams failed to reach an agreement and that’s why we didn’t sign him. Instead, I signed a player from Mali called Souleymane Keita, who plays in Nengomasha’s position, but I still want to sign Nengomasha for next season."
“I’m interested in bringing three players from the PSL and Nengomasha could be one of them. He could have been a very good player for us, but like I said, we are going to try again to sign him,” he said.
Ertugral, who also coached Ajax Cape Town and Santos in the PSL, also reiterated his vow to provide Bafana Bafana with a fit and in-form Elrio van Heerden for the World Cup.
The Port Elizabeth-born midfielder moved to Sivasspor after a frustrating spell on the bench at Blackburn Rovers.
“The Turkish League is tough and it will help Elrio a lot. I promise you he is going to be very fit by the time he is needed by the national team. I’m very happy to have him and I’m going to play him regularly,” Ertugral vowed.
