The latest sibling from the football family of Nigeria’s most celebrated superbrat, Tarila Okorowanta, Bernard is a shade more refined than his tempestuous brother. He may yet play even better if he keeps his head. Already the property of top Isreali side Maccabi Tel Aviv, “Sabi Boy†started his career with Union Bank FC, Lagos although he holds sad memories of his first season with the bankers when, playing in the last match, he copped an ankle injury.
The second but last kid in a family of nine, Bernard, who still nurses the ambition to be a Computer Scientist, won the NATANYA Youth Cup in Israel(he scored the first goal) and featured for the 2002 Golden Eaglets. His best friend is Jesus Christ but inside the pitch, Super Eagles captain, Jay-Jay Okocha is his idol. He derives inspiration from the person who bought him his first boot…. you guessed right, Tarila!
